Christmas Quilt Show Entry, Charming Girls Nov, Dec Goals!

Hi!  Go HERE to see more quilts!  |Long list there, great quilts to see!
Here is another (better) picture of my latest Christmas Quilt, but I wanted to enter it in Sew Cal Gal Christmas Quilt Show entry!  You could probably click on it to enlarge it, I'm not sure, I didnt try.
It is also one of the quilts I finished this weekend during Sue's Christmas Quilt Along weekend!
So, this gives me 2 chances for prizes into the Christmas Quilt Show!  Wish me luck!

You will remember, this table topper is for the Secret Santa Swap, so I need to get it quilted, and in the mail in the next 2 wks!  Eeek!  Christmas is 4 wks away, I'm never ready until Christmas Eve.

Nov, Dec Goals!
Well, I have these 3 quilts to quilt for gifts, I hope to do some catch up on a few UFOs over Christmas break when I'm on vacation, I'll be making a bunch of Christmas Gift Bags for the staff at the clinic and of course a little bit of baking.  The fake tree will go up Dec 1, then there is gift purchasing, and wrapping, I hate wrapping, I usually leave it to Christmas Eve!

We have lost our traditions over Christmas, I guess time to make some new ones.  We don't have any grandchildren in my side or hubby's side and his 2 brothers.  When our children and our niece and nephew where small, we used to keep gifts for each other at our own homes.  My inlaws and everyone would start at our house as our boys were the youngest, have coffee, Christmas bread, oranges and open gifts.  Then we would all go to the next set of grandchildren, open gifts there.  Then we went to my inlaw's home, opend gifts there and have breakfast!  It made the gift opening last all morning!  Then we would break over the afternoon, all go home, play with all the new stuff, finish preparing our foods for dinner and then meet at someone's home for dinner, then play a few games, easy card games, after supper! Made for a real family dinner.    Now, inlaws have passed away, all the kids are adults......
Our youngest son is now out on his own, we used to go to his and his partner's home for Christmas as they had to work over the holiday, so we were all together.  Now, he has a new partner, she wants to spend Christmas with her family.  It will be a hard Christmas for us.
So, we will wait to see what comes our way, you never know!
Have a great day tomorrow!
Take care, Leslie

  3. Beautiful Christmas Quilt Leslie, and a great post. Our traditional Christmas time has changed too, with no little ones around. But I still enjoy Christmas very much...just don't get the chance to enjoy it thru the eyes of a child.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

  4. Lovely Santa swap gift! Hope you can find some new traditions that make you happy. Last Christmas we had smoked meat sandwiches for Christmas dinner. I like it because there is too much hoopla on Christmas day already without a huge meal. I also had a little beaded tree - about a foot high. DD # 3 was very unhappy but since we had Christmas day at DD # 1's house I got away with it. DD # 2 will not be with us for Christmas this year. She'll be trying out Christmas in Newfoundland - probably she'll work. We'll go to DH's family in Prince George as this will probably be his dad's last Christmas.
