Books for Sale!

March 10, 2012
Hi!  Here is my virtual Garage Sale!
I have a number of books for sale, see below, this is just the start! When these are gone, I'll add more!
These prices include mailing costs and I am basically giving them away!
Of note, if anyone has any books by Kathleen Sullivan they would be willing to trade for a book below, that would be great!
All these books (or groupings) are $15, including postage.  Please just purchase a gift certificate for me at Bunny Hill Designs or Fat Quarter Shop, I think it would make it easiest for everyone.
Please just email me with the confirmation you purchased the gift certificate and then I'll mail out your book(s).  lesquilts@gmail.com.

I have some crafting books and quilting books, so let's start with these:
1.  Aleene's Angels Made Easy by Leisure Arts (1997).  It is brand new, I browsed through it, but that is all.  There are 49 different designs using Angels in this book!

2. These are 2 older books, I probably picked up at a Flea Market or Guild trading table some time.
a) Quilting and Patchwork, Sunset Designs (1970 ish, I think)  This is a great BASICS book, lots of great info and some cute projects in there.
b|) 500 Full-Sized Patchwork Patterns by Maggie Malone (1985).  I picked it up thinking this was great info for basic blocks.  Block patterns, templates, information to adjust the size of your block are all included.

3.  There are 5 booklets in this group.  One still has the price of $13.45 and $20 on them.
a) Northwoods Retreat by Brenda Henning (2000).  Brand new, includes all the templates and patterns to make the quilt on the cover.  I thought it was a great idea at the time, especially the Loon block!
b) Lover's Knot by Eleanor Burns, 3rd edition, (1985).  Brand new.  I made a table cover as a gift using photocopies from someone who took a class, then I saw the book, "I needed it".

c) Strip Quilting Projects by Kaye Wood (1989)  She was a key speaker at Minnesota State Quilt Show one year.
d) Sampler Plus by Honey Bee Publications (1985).  Lots of applique patterns with templates and instructions.
e) Necktie Sampler Blocks by Janet B. Elwin (1996).  Everything you need to take apart ties and remake into  quilt blocks.  I had big plans to use my father-in-law's ties after he passed away, and then the ties got thrown out before I could get them.
4. Simple Sensational Bags by Linda McGehee (2000)  LOTS of great bags in there!  Includes patterns, templates, embellishing suggestions.
5.  Quick Gifts and Decor by Nancy Zieman and Gail Brown (1998).  Lots of different, quick easy projects.
6.  A Quilter's Ark by Margaret Rolfe (1997).  More than 50 paper-pieced (or foundation pieced) animal projects and patterns.  Brand new.
7. Great American Quilts, Book Nine (2001).  26! full quilt designs and patterns.  Brand new!
8.  Fabric Landscapes by Machine by Linda Crone (2000). Patterns, templates, information regarding fabric choices, layout, colour choices, thread embellishing, finishing ideas.  Brand new.
9.  Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts by Bethany S. Reynolds (1997).  I think this was her first book of this great and easy techinique.  I took a workshop, then found the book.  I know.  Enough said!  Brand new!
10.  Stack -n-Whackier Quilts by Bethany S. Reynolds (2001).  Brand new.  Her 2nd book, I think.
11.  Another grouping, collector's books.
a) Calming the Storm by Darlene Zimmerman and Joy Hoffman (1996).  I always wanted to make one of these.  Some Day!  Brand new!
b) New Ideas for Lap Quilting by Georgia Bonesteel (1987).  Hard cover.  Book leaf cover still on, value to book collectors!
12.  Quick Quilts Using Quick Bias by Gretchen K. Hudock (2002).  Technique instructions, patterns and templates in this great book.
13. Seasonal Quilts Using Quick Bias by Gretchen K. Hudock (2004).  Again technique instructions, patterns and templates for 15 projects.
14. 100 Quick-to-Quilts Pot Holders by House of Birches (2004).  Great technique instructions, patterns, templates for smaller sized 100 different blocks.  A great resource, especially as Hot Pads are so hot right now!
15. Celtic Pieced Illusions by Karen Combs (2006).  I took a workshop, had to buy the book.  Full technique instructions, mostly machine piecing, but some hand piecing in there.  Patterns and templates included for 14 patterns. Here is a video link to Karen's technique.
16. Clever Qults, Making the most of panels, borders and theme prints by Susan Teegarden Dissmore (2002).  Great for those panels you may have in your stash.  I had bought it for ideas for baby quilts.
17.  Last but not least some Thimbleberries books.  I have a collection of these, I kept some for me I'd likely use.  I guess we'll see.  These are sold separately.
Thimbleberries Finishing Touches for Christmas by Lynette Jensen (2001) hardcover and
Cozy Coat (2001) with full patterns and applique templates.

18. Thimbleberries Cottage Comfort by Lynette Jensen (2001) hardcover.  Lots of applique, traditional, machine pieced quilts and gift projects.  Recipies too!
19. A Thimbleberries Housewarming by Lynette Jensen (2001) soft cover.  22 projects for quilters, including the usual patterns, templates, tips, etc.
I think that is enough for February!  I'll put some more together for March!
If you have a book you are looking for, let me know, I may have it!

Thanks for looking at the list! Take care, Leslie

Hi!
I have a BIG Rubbermaid Tote full of nearly new books!
What can I say?
They were a great idea at the time, a way to learn new things as I didn't live in a large city where classes were available to a newbie.
I'll be adding the list with pictures and prices as I work out the details!
Stay tuned!  Take care, Leslie
